Two Years of Teamwork, Fundraising and Making a Difference with SAMH
Almost £14,000 raised, more than one million steps taken, 24 Munros climbed, two pickleball tournaments, the Great Scottish Run and a Halloween pub quiz. Our two-year partnership with the Scottish Association for Mental Health (SAMH) has brought plenty of memorable moments to Taylor & Martin, all in support of an important cause.
From sporting activities to events with the businesses we work with, there have been plenty of ways for people to get involved. Along the way, we’ve built relationships, tried new things and learned more about the work SAMH does to support mental health and wellbeing across Scotland.
Bringing People Together on and off the Court
Our two pickleball tournaments at Kelvin Hall were a highlight, bringing together businesses we work with, including contractors, for some friendly competition in support of SAMH.
The tournaments also gave us the chance to spend time with our business contacts away from the usual working environment. It was great to see so many people get involved, enjoy something a little different and support a cause that matters.
Our team step challenge brought a different kind of competition. We set ourselves the ambitious target of completing one million steps collectively and were delighted to surpass it. Whether squeezing in an extra walk during the working day or heading out after hours, everyone could contribute in their own way.
We also took on the Munro Challenge, with the team collectively climbing an incredible 24 Munros in 2025. It was a brilliant way to get outdoors, enjoy some time together and work towards a shared goal, with colleagues contributing their efforts to reach the total.
Some of our colleagues also took part in the Great Scottish Run, putting their training into practice while raising money for SAMH. From walking and running to climbing mountains, everyone found different ways to play their part.
From Office Fundraisers to a Halloween Pub Quiz
Not every fundraiser involved a physical activity. Our office jammie day gave the team a fun way to show their support, and we also got behind Craig Ferguson’s Tartan Trek during the World Cup.
Our Halloween pub quiz at Saint Judes in Glasgow brought businesses together for an evening of friendly competition. Hosted by Amy from Goose Quizzes, the event saw teams put their knowledge to the test in a Halloween-themed quiz.
We’re grateful to everyone who attended, donated and helped make the evening such a success, as well as Amy and the team at Saint Judes.
From office activities to events with our business contacts, the variety of fundraisers meant there was always another way to get involved and support SAMH.
Seeing SAMH’s Work First-Hand
One of the most meaningful parts of our partnership has been the opportunity to see SAMH’s work first-hand. We’ve been honoured to be invited to the openings of The Nook in both Glasgow and Aberdeen, giving us the chance to learn more about the support these spaces provide and see where fundraising can make a difference.
Being able to visit in person has helped bring the purpose behind our fundraising to life. It’s one thing to organise events and see the total grow, but it’s another to see the work of the charity you’re supporting and understand more about the people and communities it helps.
“Working with SAMH over the past two years has been a really lovely experience. It’s been great to learn more about the work they do and find ways we can support them through our fundraising. Catherine has been a big part of that and has been an absolute pleasure to work with. She’s always been so helpful and enthusiastic, and it’s been lovely getting to know her throughout the partnership. It makes such a difference when you have that personal connection with the charity you’re supporting. I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved together and so grateful to Catherine and the wider SAMH team for all their support along the way.”

Over £13,500 Raised for SAMH
Across our two years of fundraising, we’ve raised over £13,500 for SAMH. We’re incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved, and the total reflects the time and effort put in by our colleagues, alongside the support of contractors, business contacts and everyone who took part or donated.
For our Director, Michael Martin, the fact that charity partnerships are chosen by the team makes the experience particularly meaningful.
“One of the things I really like about how we choose our charity partners is that it comes from our own team. Everyone gets the chance to nominate a charity that means something to them, so there’s a real connection to the causes we support. I’ve been really proud to see how everyone has got behind SAMH over the past two years, from taking on challenges themselves to helping organise events and getting the businesses we work with involved. Raising almost £14,000 is a fantastic achievement, and it’s great to know that all that effort will help SAMH continue the important work they do to support people across Scotland.”

A Shared Achievement to Be Proud Of
The fundraising total is something to celebrate, but the partnership has also been about the people involved, the relationships we’ve built and the opportunity to support a cause that affects so many lives.
We’re grateful to everyone who has given their time, taken part in an event, made a donation or helped spread the word. We’d also like to thank the SAMH team for their support and for giving us a greater insight into the work they do.
It’s been a rewarding two years, and we’re proud of what we’ve achieved together.
Thank you to SAMH, our colleagues, contractors, business contacts and everyone who has supported our fundraising.
