Team Stories: Meet Hannah Hume

From sales and lettings to property management, repairs and compliance, Hannah Hume has built a varied career in property management. We caught up with Hannah to find out more about her career journey, what she brings to Taylor & Martin and what she enjoys most about being part of the team.

A varied career in property management

Hannah began her career in sales and lettings before moving into property management, progressing from Property Manager to Senior Property Manager and then Client Services Manager.

She went on to take on senior roles in repairs management, progressing to Head of Repairs and Associate Director of Repairs, while also gaining experience overseeing compliance.

Across her 10 years in the industry, Hannah has developed a broad understanding of property management, with a particular interest in improving processes and finding practical solutions to complex problems.

Some of her proudest career achievements have involved implementing process improvements and seeing their impact, as well as resolving long-standing issues on established developments.

Bringing experience to Taylor & Martin

Hannah joined our Glasgow office in April 2026, bringing her experience in property management, client services and compliance to her role in small portfolio management and compliance.

Her day-to-day work involves responding to homeowner enquiries, progressing outstanding actions and keeping clients informed, alongside working with colleagues on compliance matters.

For Hannah, client service is always a priority. As she puts it, “Strong communication is behind all aspects of what I do.”

Building positive relationships with homeowners is one of the most rewarding parts of her job. Reflecting on what she’s most proud of during her time at Taylor & Martin, she says it’s about “working towards some wins for my clients” and building the positive working relationships she now has with them.

She also loves the variety of the role, explaining that every day brings something different and unexpected.

The people behind the role

Ask Hannah what she enjoys most about working at Taylor & Martin and her answer is immediate: the team.

“The team approach, support and general working environment. Every day is different and fun. It’s an environment where we can learn from one another and build strong knowledge bases.”

She describes the culture in three words: positive, empowering and supportive. She also appreciates the way colleagues celebrate achievements, big and small, and come together through activities such as fundraising for our charity partner, SAMH.

Her advice to anyone joining the business is to be “as keen and inquisitive as possible” and to absorb knowledge from colleagues. It’s a simple message that reflects her own enthusiasm for learning and sharing experience.

That contribution hasn’t gone unnoticed. Hannah was recently named Taylor & Martin’s Employee of the Quarter, an award nominated by colleagues who see our core values in action every day.

And how did she feel about being chosen?

“It feels surreal and really incredible! I’m so pleased and grateful!”

A little more about Hannah

Away from work, Hannah’s ideal day includes a full eight hours of sleep, yummy food, a bit of exercise and a trip to the pub with friends.
